Procedures for students to follow at St Joseph’s College

YOU WISH TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE COLLEGE GUIDANCE COUNSELLOR/S
Make an appointment, by speaking to your JW teacher, House Leader or a staff member at the student entrance
Use the computer just inside the entrance to Murphy block to check-in
Use the same computer to check-out after your appointment
Ensure that you return to class directly

Contact the Staff Member to arrange a suitable
YOU ARE ON MEDICATION
Provide an explanatory note to the Front
Leave your medication with the First Aid
No medication (e.g. PANADOL) will be provided to students by the

Notes from parents/guardians should be presented to the Student Entrance in the morning
Immediately prior to leaving, present the note to the Student Entrance personnel and sign
YOU ARE LATE
Report to the Student Entrance for a ‘Late’ slip and sign Failure to do so results in a day’s absence being recorded.
Retain the slip and give it to the teacher of the ensuing period for that

YOU ARE ABSENT
Your parent/guardian must notify the College by 20 am.
If the absence is to be prolonged (e.g. three [3] days), parents should telephone the College and notify Office staff.
If you are going to be absent and require set work, please request work from your subject
If you are going to be absent for part of the school day, you must have a parent/guardian accompany you to sign you in or out of the College

YOU ARE GOING TO A MUSIC LESSON
If your lesson is first half of a class, go straight to your music Do not go to class.
If your lesson occurs during the second half of the class, inform your teacher at the start that you have a music lesson and then 5 minutes before your music lesson ask permission to leave.
